MGCC Officials

Officials Hand Book (PDF)

The Officials Register was formed late in 2005 in order to firstly comply with CAMS’ instructions regarding the licencing regulations as laid down and to most importantly ensure that the Club had a comprehensive understanding of just who our volunteers are, where we can reach them and the functions that they are each licenced to perform. Based on this information we can gear training programs to build strengths and consolidate previous experience.

A motor club and motor sport at all levels could not exist without the work of volunteer officials. The MG Car Club offers plenty of opportunity for MG enthusiasts to be involved. The Club maintains a database of some 65 members and friends who regularly marshal at MG Car Club events and race meetings in which the MG Car Club Victoria is involved.

The Club organises a variety of events ranging from motorkhanas, hill- climbs, gymkhanas sprints and trials which all require marshals to handle various jobs. These events take place at Rob Roy, Calder, Sandown, Winton, at venues in and about Melbourne and nearby regional areas. We even have an annual challenge event against the MG Car Club of South Australia and alternate the venue between Mallala in SA and Sandown in Victoria. Before each major event the volunteers are invited to the club rooms to be allocated their tasks and to collect their free admission passes and race meeting instructions.

The marshalling lists include those who volunteer for a variety of jobs from experienced observers and flag marshals, fire marshals, pit and paddock officials, newcomers who are learning the ropes and those who handle race radios and help in the administration offices. Junior members can serve as 'runners' (with their parents' permission!).

This is a rewarding way of getting involved with the Club, generally you will not require any experience or qualifications other than enthusiasm! But you will need to hold a Cams Official’s Licence, if you don’t hold a current licence just click here and complete.

But above all else get involved, all you need to do is click on the link either in the calendar or on the contacts page, send off an e-mail and your almost there.
